Our mission is to provide respectful, comprehensive primary health care for all residents in our region, regardless of their ability to pay. We offer quality health care services to everyone. In the spirit of community, we make efforts to reach out and welcome those who need health services, but may have insufficient means to access them. We commit ourselves to continually reduce the burden of illness, injury, and disability, and to improve the health and quality of life of those for whom we care.
Why It's Needed
LRHC is a not-for-profit organization, and we exist through grant funding, for which we must apply to our federal and state governments. Our annual report shows you our budget, and exactly how we spend the dollars we receive. We are not a money-making enterprise, and any charitable donations are used solely to improve health care services to our patients.
What to Give
Selecting the right gift involves reflection. For example, a gift of appreciated stock can avoid the capital gains tax* that would be due if the stock were sold and the proceeds given to charity. That's a WIN-WIN gift. Consulting with your accountant or attorney about a larger donation, may be a wise decision.
When to Give
The timing of your gift can be as important as the type of gift you select. For instance, an income tax charitable deduction, may help offset the tax impact of receiving a bonus.
